Folio 167.
To: A Haymes, Clerk to the Local Board of Health, Leamington [Warwickshire].
From: T Taylor, The General Board of Health.
Draft letter acknowledging receipt of a letter dated 15 September 1853. Taylor states in reply that he is surprised at the language Haymes 'thought proper' to use in his report to the Local Board of Leamington, with reference to the course taken by the General Board in submitting a case to the Law Officers of the Crown, in relation to the constitution of Main Sewerage Districts. He explains that he 'must decline to bring before the Board a correspondence which includes a report worded in the language you have taken upon yourself to adopt'. Haymes is asked to lay this letter before the Leamington Local Board. Taylor adds that the account of the expenses incurred in applying the Public Health Act 1848 to Leamington will be forwarded to the Treasury in due time.
