To: A Haymes, Clerk to the Local Board of Health, Leamington [Warwickshire].
From: Henry Austin, Chief Superintending Inspector, The General Board of Health.
Draft letter stating that he is sorry that he is unable to give Haymes any specific information as to the parties proposed as Sureties by Mr Brooks. Austin explains that he is not acquainted with either of them, but that he believes 'Mr Wybrow's to be an old established respectable house'. He adds that the amount of Mr Alexander's contract 'would be sufficient to replace the plans, if the survey had to be done de novo'. But as this is not the case, Austin suggests that the amount of £600 should be 'sufficient security in all'.
