Folios 140-141.
To: Henry Austin, Chief Superintending Inspector, The General Board of Health.
From: A Haymes, Clerk to the Local Board of Health, Leamington [Warwickshire].
Letter advising that Mr Brooks has named Mr W Wybrow, of 33 Rathbone Place, and Mr B D Cousins of Helmet Court, Strand, as his Sureties. Haymes enquires whether these gentlemen are known to Austin, or whether the Leamington Local Board may safely accept them as the Sureties 'for the performance of the contract'. He adds that the amount paid to Mr alexander for the plans of Leamington was £578 12s 6d, and enquires whether that sum will be 'sufficient to replace them in case of accident, and to cover Mr Brooks' contract'; or whether Austin would recommend him to insert another sum, 'say £1000'.
