An active member of the British Union of Fascists in the 1930s and 1940s, FLOCKHART was detained under Regulation 18B of Defence (General) Regulations 1939 in 1940, and released in 1943 to become one of Oswald MOSLEY's lieutenants. He remained an ardent supporter of Mosley's movement thereafter
