Description

Roxburghe, on the referral to the Treasury of the petition of David Henryson merchant of Newhaven in North Britain. Having supplied Lord Polworth's militia and regular forces with provisions (clean straw, coal, candles and ale) during the late rebellion, the memorialist was totally ruined to the sum of £600 by the destruction of his glass works by the [Jacobite] rebels, by which they barricaded the citadel and bridge at Leith.
