Roxburghe, on the referral to the Treasury of the annexed petition (of 6 March) and memorial of the Society in Scotland for propagating Christian Knowledge. Relates to the promotion of schools for the training of the youth in the Highlands and islands, the rudeness and ignorance of the people in those parts and the redress of monies (originally awarded by King William in 1696 out of the rents of the bishopric of Dunkeld) from the forfeited estates.
