The enclosed petition of William Wear, sergeant in Brigadier General Groves Regiment. Being forced to flee his country and enlist in the army after killing an unknown girl in a fowling accident, 'She being a Stroler about the Country'. As an honest man and good soldier, the petitioner prays leave to be granted a pardon to return to his country [Clydesdale] to enable him to recover his small estate.
