Folios 262-263: Captain Christopher Mason, the Oxford, the Downs. Receipt of letter with the petition of John Payne, late gunner of the Oxford. The reason why he refused to sign his account was because they were notoriously false. He then gives a detailed account of the situation with mention of his brother.
