Memorial of the officers of Evan's regiment, despatched to the Duke of Argyl by [lieutenant] colonel Henry Hawley. Having been with the regiment on the Irish Establishment in 1713, orders were issued to stop the subsistence of the regiment and deduct three months pay. The capatains being forced to borrow money on their own credit, redeem their subalterns and subsist their trroops to the camp.
