Ravenser Odd was a short-lived island in the mouth of the River Humber. It rose from the sea in the early 13th century and had sunk beneath the waves by 1360.

These maps were placed in the library of the Public Record Office at Chancery Lane, where they remained largely inaccessible. On consolidation of the Chancery Lane and Kew Library holdings at Kew, in 1996, they were listed and placed on open access shelves in the Map and Large Document Room.
