The 'New Series' sheet numbers are shown in Arabic numerals in the upper, right margin; but the sheets have been bound according to the 'Old Series' numerical sequence.

Of uncertain provenance, these maps were transferred to the Public Record Office, where they were placed in the Library. In the early 1990s, the decision was taken to list them and place them on open access shelves in the Map and Large Document Room, where an index map to the sheets is also available.
