Folios 302-303. Letter from Joseph Allen and Thomas Wheeler, Overseers of the parish of Stoke Prior in the Bromsgrove Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Board, stating that the district auditor had issued a certificate of disallowance for £10 paid to the assistant overseer for preparing 'valuation lots' because there was no order by the assessment committee, the guardians nor the vestry for this payment. Allen and Wheeler were therefore due to pay it. They informed the Poor Law Board that the sum was granted by the vestry but because of an omission by the chairman of the meeting, it was not entered into the vestry order book. They 'respectfully' request the Board to order the sum to be remitted to them.
Annotated: ask for the voucher and number of assessment.
Paper Number: 39103/1863.
Poor Law Union Number: 526.
Counties: Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire.
