Folios 207-208. Letter from W Nichols Marcy [William Nichols Marcy], Clerk of the Peace for the county of Worcester, to the Poor Law Board, in reply to their letter of 11 August 1863 concerning the Redditch division of the parish of Alvechurch.
Marcy states that as a result of the order made at the Court of Quarter Sessions at Easter 1862 the eastern, north and south-eastern parts of Alvechurch are included in the Redditch division while the rest of Alvechurch continues in the Northfield division.
Equally, part of Tardebigge is in 'that division' and part in Bromsgrove but Nichols is not aware that any question has arisen there similar to that referred to in their letter of 11 August 1863.
The two parishes were divided under 22 and 23 Vic c 65. The difficulty about which Mr Penzer [Assistant Overseer of the parish of Alvechurch] complains was not foreseen. Nichols suggests he bring the circumstances before the next court of Quarter Sessions to obtain an order providing against any future inconvenience.
Annotated: send copy to Mr Penzer.
