Description

Folios 151-158: Appeal from the High Court of Admiralty concerning the vessel De Vryheid (master Jacob Hop).

History: sailing from St Croix to Amsterdam, laden with coffee, sugar, etc. Taken by the Invincible privateer, Ezekiel Nash commanding.

Sentence given 25 March 1760: goods restored with costs.

Discussed: whether the property of the ship and cargo is not clearly proved; whether the evidence of one of the crew taken after the other depositions should be read.
