Extract from 'The Railway Magazine' July 1916, pages 55- 59, and a cutting from 'The Railway Magazine' November 1908. 'The Liverpool Overhead Railway'. 'The First Overhead Electric Railway in the World'. The article is an update of an earlier article of February 1901 (ZSPC11/668/6) with more information regarding revenue and traffic. There are also notes and a drawing of a treadle operated grease box which was introduced to reduce wear to both the rails and wheel flanges. There is a line map and a photographic illustration of E J Neachell, Engineer and General Manager.
The cutting gives details of Mr Neachell's appointment in 1908 with details of his career.
