Extract from 'The Liverpool Overhead Railway' by James Henry Greathead and Francis Fox, and 'The Electrical Equipment of the Liverpool Overhead Railway' by Thomas Parker, pages 1 - 36. These are excerpts from minutes of the proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers, Session 1893 - 1894. A very detailed description of the system and its construction and of its electrical equipment. At the back is a line map (22cm x 73cm) showing the stations and the docks which are served. Also there are sections of various parts of the elevated structure. Also at the back is a sectional drawing (22cm x 75cm) of the power station together with indicator diagrams showing power requirements along the line. A third sectional drawing (22cm x 60cm) shows a motor coach side elevation and internal layout, drawings of the bogies, a basic plan of the line and a plan of a cross-over road.
