Description

Envelope, second of two attached to card typed 'London and South Western Railway Class O2', containing eight monochrome photographic images of London and South Western Railway Class O2 [and one M7] 0-4-4 tank locomotives:

1) Cutting from unnamed journal [c.1900], photographic illustration of [M7 class] locomotive No 247 lettered 'L S W'.

2) White card with typed caption on reverse, image of locomotive No 211 on train at Bude station, Mr and Mrs Box seeing their son off on a journey, 16 July 1906, screen printed and sent by Frank E Box as a Christmas card 1953.

3) Photograph with manuscript caption on reverse, locomotive No 232 at Clapham Junction, by H C Casserley 24 May 1920, 8cm x 14cm.

4) Postcard, locomotive No 200 in Southern livery [c.1925], 9cm x 14cm.

5) Postcard with manuscript caption on reverse, locomotive No 230 still in London and South Western Railway livery at Plymouth Friary, by H C Casserley 12 July 1924, 9cm x 14cm.

6) Cutting from unnamed journal [c.1935], locomotive No 213 on train near Easton, Portland, Dorset.

7) Postcard with manuscript caption on reverse, locomotive No 231 [c.1935], 9cm x 14cm.

8) Photograph mounted on card with typed caption on reverse, locomotive No 207 at Plymouth Friary still in Southern Railway livery in 1959, by John Jones, 5cm x 8cm.
