Description

Envelope, typed '0-6-0 'DX' Goods', containing three photographs and five postcards, all with monochrome photographic images of LNWR [London and North Western Railway] 0-6-0 locomotives:

1) Photograph, 6cm x 8cm, front three-quarter view, type note on reverse 'As LMS [London Midland and Scottish Railway] [No] 28430, 1948 at Saltley, [Photographer] John C Jones'.

2) Photograph, 9cm x 14cm, front three-quarter view of locomotive and two-coach passenger train, manuscript note on reverse 'Penruddock, 4 10 pm Penrith to Keswick and Workington, July 1951'.

3) Photograph,9cm x 14cm, front three-quarter view of locomotive No 8575 in stabling siding in steam, manuscript note on reverse 'Keswick c 1931'.

4) Postcard, 9cm x 14cm, front three-quarter view of locomotive and goods train, manuscript note on reverse '168 Down [Goods]', and stamped 'Photograph by Henry L Salmon, Serial No 482, Leicester', [c 1910].

5) Postcard, 9cm x 14cm, front three-quarter view of locomotive and passenger train exiting tunnel, manuscript note on reverse '1719 [Engine]' and stamped 'Photograph by Henry L Salmon, Serial No 816, [Birmingham]', [c 1910].

6) Postcard, 9cm x 14cm, front three-quarter view of locomotive and four coach passenger train, manuscript note on reverse '0-6-0 Locomotive No 422', and stamped 'W Leslie Good', [c 1910].

7) Postcard, 9cm x 14cm, side three-quarter view of locomotive No 8408 in LMS [London Midland and Scottish Railway] livery, manuscript note on reverse 'Crewe Works, [14 April 1935]'.

8) Postcard, 9cm x 14cm, front three-quarter view of locomotive No 8525 in LMS [London Midland and Scottish Railway] livery, [probably at Crewe Works, c 1930].
