Description

Records of British forces' operations in the Gulf area, following an appeal in 1957 from the Sultan of Muscat and Oman to the British government for help after some tribesmen in Oman revolted.

These papers concern the operations in Oman which resulted from the appeal. They include patrol reports, intelligence summaries and an historical account of the operations.

The main papers deal with the operation against the insurgents in the Jebel Akhdar by elements from 22 SAS and the Trucial Oman Scouts.
