Silvion Oscar LEWENSTEIN, alias LOWENSTEIN: British. Although a member from 1934 or 1936, LEWENSTEIN first came to notice as a member of the Communist Party in 1944 while a soldier in the Pioneer Corps. After the war he became General Secretary of the Unity Theatre Repertory Company and was later much involved with Theatre Workshop
