Folio(s) 177-180. Letter from Captain [John Newdigate Ludford] at Ansley Hall near Atherstone [Warwickshire]. He encloses a loyal address from his troop [Nuneaton Troop of Yeomanry Cavalry] which had previously been sent to the Earl of Warwick [Lord Lieutenant]. Ludford also reports that although there is no hint of riot in his district, the current conditions for the poor, particularly in Nuneaton where trade is at a standstill, are a concern.
Enclosed: Loyal address on behalf of the Troop of Nuneaton Yeomanry expressing 'our horror and indignation at the atrocious and treasonable attempt against your majesty's sacred person'.
