Folio(s) 125-127. Letter from John Clark, at Bulwick Hall, Northamptonshire, enclosing copies of incendiary letters [not present], distributed in the parishes of Harringworth and Bulwick, making threats against the property and life of Clark and his tenants. He states that rewards have been offered for information about the offenders, but without effect. He asks that a royal pardon should be offered to any accomplice who cooperates. Clark adds that some outbuildings in Bulwick have been set on fire and that watchmen have been employed to guard against further action.
Enclosed: Notice announcing the offer of 100 guineas reward for information leading to the conviction at the next Northampton Assizes of anyone who has distributed the threatening documents. It is signed by John Clark, Thomas Wingfield, Griffin Cant, William Walter, John Cant, Luke Nichols, Austin Cave, William Bowater, John Adcock, Nathaniel Atterton, [Edward Preston], William Waterfield, William Atterton, Charles Barratt.
