WO 335
1914-1974
This series contains a selection of the personal files of civilian staff of the War Office. The files were selected either because the people involved attained high office, or because other aspects of their careers made the files worthy of preservation, and the files themselves contained material of biographical interest.
Each file embraces the career of the individual officer, and includes papers detailing their original acceptance for government employment, subsequent promotions and postings, annual qualification reports and emoluments. Also included are papers relating to collateral matters, such as uniformed service during the First and/or Second World War, details of incarceration as a prisoner of war, applications for outside appointments etc.
