Folios 449-452.
To: The Local Government Act Office.
From: C H Hunt, Assistant Overseer of the Parish of Westbury upon Trym, 6 Grove Place, Redland, Bristol [Gloucestershire].
Letter advising that the Sewer Authority Committee of one of the Special Drainage Districts of Westbury upon Trym have called a Vestry meeting for next Tuesday, for the purpose of laying before the ratepayers a certain report of the Committee and to submit for their approval a proposed system of drainage recommended by their Engineer. Hunt advises that opponents of the proposed drainage system intended to move a further resolution at the same meeting for dissolving the said Committee. He encloses a copy of a notice prepared by the opponents warning of 'Increased Taxation!!!' and encouraging the ratepayers to vote for the Committee to be dissolved. Hunt enquires whether such a resolution can legally be proposed at the said meeting or whether 'a meeting specially convened for the purpose' must be called.
