Folio 443.
To: The Local Government Act Office.
From: J D Wadham, Small Street, Bristol [Gloucestershire].
Letter acknowledging receipt of a letter dated 11 May 1868 and an enclosed copy of a letter of 8 May 1868 from the Chairman of the local Sewer Authority for the Parish of St George. Wadham states in reply that 'no steps whatever have been taken to abate the nuisance' (which is said to be 'as bad as ever') and that he has ascertained 'that no instructions have been given to Mr Ashmead to prepare a plan of a Sewage District, as promised in the Chairman's letter'. Wadham further states that he hopes that the Home Secretary 'will now think that sufficient ground has been shown for his sending an Inspector to report upon the facts laid before him'.
