To: The Local Government Act Office.
From: John Irwin, Clerk to the Local Board of Health, Denton [Lancashire].
Letter requesting advice in respect of buildings proposed to be erected at Denton. Irwin explains that the buildings to be erected are five cottages and that a yard of 150 square feet is assigned to each cottage for its exclusive occupation. He enquires as to whether the Board can give its sanction to the plans if the division of the walls of the yards are removed, making the five yards into two - 'one yard to be used in common by the occupiers of two houses, the other yard to be used by the occupiers of three houses'.
