This series comprises records collected by the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) relating to the original bid which was presented in July 2005 in Singapore. They are mostly video and some audio files.

The contributors to the records will pre-date the creation of LOCOG in 2005 in some files. For example, London 2012 Limited was established in 2003 to specifically focus on the 2005 bid. There are also contributions from the British Olympic Association, London International Sport, the London Development Agency, the London Olympic Institute and the Olympic Legacy Integration Group.

The records are distinct from the Singapore Bid Records in LOC 7 only in so far that they are digital in format and include much earlier material from the organisations mentioned above. All reasonable attempts have been made to ensure that these records do not duplicate the records in LOC 7 although some copies may still be included.

The records are arranged in digital file plan order.

These records were taken under special agreement with LOCOG and the British Olympic Authority (BOA) with a 15 year closure from 26 November 2012 (which was the date of transfer to The National Archives). Therefore the record opening date for these files is 27 November 2027.
