Food defence: plans in the event of an emergency. Includes estimates of the costs of stockpiling food and equipment, the organisation of distribution systems and arrangements for the establishment of emergency feeding stations.
Contains a detailed report by the Ministry of Food submitted to the Minister, Derick Heathcoat Amory (later Viscount Amory) in April 1955, and a report by the Civil Defence Department of the Home Office on the likely effects of hydrogen bombs, together with a list of possible targets in the UK.
