Description

Captured ship: Le Trompeur of Calais (commander Pierre Sauvage).

History: a French privateer (40 tons, 7 guns, 35 men), bound from Calais on a cruise; taken on 19/30 March 1746 of Goeree (Netherlands) by HMS Falcon (John Birmingham commanding), and brought into Dover.

  • [CP 6]: allegation;
  • [CP 7-CP 8]: attestation as to papers, and abstracts and translations of the 2 ship's papers.

Ship’s Papers numbered SP 1-SP 2, letter of marque, muster roll.
