Captured ship: Le Tigre of St Malo (commander Allain Bernard Emeric or Emerich).
History: a French privateer (400 tons, 30 guns, 226 men), bound from St Malo on a cruise; taken on 24 February / 6 March 1747 in latitude 48° off Ushant by HMS Falkland (Blumfield Barradell commanding), and brought into Plymouth.

Ship’s Papers numbered SP A-SP C and SP 1-SP 5, letter of marque, muster roll, copies of commissions given to Sr du Flachet le Feu, for Le Comte de Maurepas, privateer and to Noel Giron de la Massuer for Les Deux Couronnes, privateer; also bills of lading of the captured Providence (master James Grant): details of which capture are at HCA 32/143/28.
