Captured ship: Thomas of Poole (master John Parson; prize master Mathurin Vincent).
History: an English ship (3 men), bound from Bristol to London, laden with pitch, tar and Bristol water; taken on 18/29 July 1746 off Land's End by the French privateer Le François (Jean Baptiste Nicolas Sebire commanding), retaken on 23 July / 4 August off the South Foreland by the English privateer John and Susanna (John Clark commanding) and brought into Dover.
