Captured ship: Le Télémaque or Thélemaque of Vannes (master Jean Marie Gillet).
History: a French merchant ship (80 tons, 6 guns, 16 men), bound from Saint Domingue to Nantes, laden with sugar and indigo; taken on 24 April / 5 May 1748 off Belle Isle by HMS Amazon (Michael Everitt commanding), and brought into Plymouth.
