Description

Captured ship: La Thétis of Bayonne (master Saubat Contis).

History: a French privateer (250 tons, 22 guns, 245 men), bound from Bayonne on a cruise; taken on 7/18 December off the Scilly Isles by HMS Salisbury (George Edgcumbe commanding), and brought into Plymouth.

  • [CP 6]: allegation;
  • [CP 7-CP 8]: attestation as to papers, and abstracts and translations of the 2 ship's papers.

Ship’s Papers numbered SP A-SP B, muster roll, letter of marque.
