Description

Captured ship: St Theresa of San Sebastian (master Francisco Beuret or Bonett, succeeding Carlos Chibalier or Chevallier).

History: a Spanish privateer (140 tons, 16 guns), bound from San Sebastian on a cruise; taken on 29 May / 9 June 1743 off Cape Clear by HMS Port Mahon (Henry Aylmer commanding), and brought into Bristol.

  • [CP 1-CP 5]: standing interrogatories, three examinations, commissioners' affidavit;
  • [CP 6]: allegation;
  • [CP 7-CP 9]: attestation as to papers, and two sets of abstracts and translations of the 4 ship's papers.

Ship’s Papers numbered SP 1-SP 4, muster roll, ship's passes.

[Decision: condemned as prize, 4 August 1743]
