Captured ship: La Sirenne of Bordeaux (master François Capmesure otherwise Cap Me Sure or Capmesme).
History: a French merchant ship (150 tons, 10 guns, 26 men), bound from Saint Domingue to Bordeaux, laden with sugar and indigo; taken on 12/23 August 1744 in latitude 45° by the Dutch warship Dordrecht (Vice Admiral t'Hooft commanding) and an English fleet under John Balchen [Channel Fleet], and brought into Portsmouth.
