History: a French warship (50 guns, 340 men, two women and a child), convoying ships from the Caribbean to France; taken on 14/25 October 1747 [second battle of Cape Finisterre] in latitude 47°N by a fleet under Rear-Admiral Hawke, and brought into Portsmouth.
