Description

Captured ship: St Rose of Marseilles (master Pierre Sandras).

History: a French ship (120 tons, 2 guns, 12 men), bound from [?] to Marseilles laden with rice, peas, lentils and beans; taken on 28 July / 6 August 1744 off Malta by the privateer Diamond (Daniel Goatley commanding), and brought into Livorno.

  • [CP 3]: allegation;
  • [CP 4-CP 5]: attestation as to papers, and abstracts and translations of the 2 ship's papers and the examinations.

Ship’s Papers numbered SP A-SP B, ship's pass, muster roll.
