Description

Captured ship: St Rosalie otherwise Le Postillonof Nantes (master Antoine Videl).

History: a French ship (100 tons, 6 guns, 18 men), bound from Safi in the Maghreb to Cadiz, laden with wax; taken on 10/21 June 1747 in Safia Bay by the privateers King George (George Walker commanding) and Duke (Edward Dottin commanding), and brought into Lisbon.

  • [CP 4-CP 5]: attestation as to papers, and abstracts and translations of the 52 ship's papers.

Ship’s Papers numbered SP 1-SP 52, ship's passes, letter of marque, charterparty, bills of lading, instructions, accounts, receipts, letter, bills of health.
