Captured ship: La Providence of Granville (master Jean François Daguenot or Dagnaret).
History: a French ship (100 tons, 18 men), bound from Newfoundland to Nantes, laden with fish and oil; taken on 20 September / 1 October 1746 off Belle Isle by the privateer Flye of Bristol (John Dyke commanding), and brought into Plymouth.
