Description

Captured ship: La Poste of Bordeaux (master Claas Stellhoorn).

History: a Dutch ship (45 tons, 5 men), bound from Charente to Dieppe, laden with wine and brandy; taken on 20/31 May 1747 off Olonne by the privateer Squirrel (Nicholas Le Couteur commanding), and brought into Jersey.

  • [CP 2-CP 3]: attestation and claim;
  • [CP 4]: allegation;
  • [CP 5-CP 6]: attestation as to papers, and abstracts and translations of the 8 ship's papers.

Ships Papers numbered SP 1-SP 8, bills of lading, ship's pass.
