Captured ship: La Petite Begogne of St Jean de Luz (master Martin Harostegui otherwise Hurostegui).
History: a French privateer (40 tons, 16 guns, 94 men), cbound from St Jean de Luz on a cruise; taken on 26 July / 6 August north of Cape Finisterre by HMS Portland (Charles Stephens commanding), and brought into Plymouth.
