Captured ship: Providence of Granville (master Jacques Mullot or Mulot).
History: a French ship (80 tons, 17 men), bound from Granville to Newfoundland, laden with salt and provisions; taken on 12/23 June 1746 off Cape Frehel by the privateer Squirrel (Nicholas Le Couteur commanding), and brought into Jersey.
