Description

Captured ship: St Pierre of Dunkirk (master Pierre Laurens).

History: a French fishing boat (25 tons, 8 men and a boy), taken together with the fishing boat St Catherine of Dunkirk (master Joseph Winnock, 25 tons, 2 guns, 8 men and a boy) on 13/24 October 1747 off Dunkirk by HMS Winchelsea (Henry Dive commanding).

  • [CP 1-CP 3]: standing interrogatories, two examinations;
  • [CP 4]: attestation as to the sale of the two vessels;
  • [CP 5]: allegation;
  • [CP 6-CP 8]: two attestations as to papers, and abstracts and translations of the 3 ship's papers from the St Catherine.

Ship’s Papers numbered SP 1-SP 3, SP 7-SP 10, including papers from both vessels [SP 4-6 are wanting].

[Decision: condemned as prize, 20 January 1748]
