Captured ship: La Palme of Brest (master Etienne Louis de Perier otherise de Pereir).
History: a French warship (corvette, 200 tons, 12 guns, 74 men), bound from St Malo to the French Caribbean; taken on 22 January / 2 February 1748 in latitude 49°N in the Bay of Biscay by HMS Surprize (James Webb commanding), and brought into Plymouth.
