Description

Captured ship: Providence of Saint-Brieuc (master Jacques Roussel Deplevin or Rouxel Deplevin).

History: a French privateer (34 tons, 10 guns, 57 men), bound from Saint-Brieuc on a cruise; taken on 9/20 July 1744 off the Sept-Iles by the privateer Adventure (Thomas Israel commanding), and brought into Guernsey.

  • [CP 3]: allegation;
  • [CP 4-CP 5]: attestation as to papers, and abstracts and translations of the 6 ship's papers.
