Description

Captured ship: De Postillion Galley of Amsterdam (master Johannes Reneman (Johannes Renseman)).

History: a Dutch ship (100 tons, 8 men), bound from Malaga to Amsterdam or a port in France, laden with wine, raisins, lemons and oranges; taken on 13/24 November 1747 near Falmouth by the privateer Prince of Wales (John Beal commanding), and brought into Falmouth.

  • [CP 6]: allegation;
  • [CP 7]: attestation and claim;
  • [CP 8-CP 10]: estimates of damages to owners of ship and cargo;
  • [CP 11-CP 18: four attestations given at Amsterdam, with translations;
  • [CP 19-CP 21]: attestation as to papers, two sets of abstracts and translations of the 12 ship's papers in Dutch and Spanish.

[Decision: restored with costs and damages 3 March 1748]
