Captured ship: Le Pierre André of Granville (master Michel des Vaux).
History: a French ship (95 tons, 21 men), bound from Newfoundland to Granville, laden with cod, whale oil, salt and provisions; taken about the 14 July 1744 at Plancentia Bay, Newfoundland by the privateer Benson Galley (Richard Vernam commanding), and brought into Barnstaple.
