Description

Captured ship: St Pierre of Belle Isle (master Charles Thuer otherwise Touere, Lestoire, Le Toir, Le Thouar, or Le Thoumar).

History: a French ship (34 tons, 4 men), bound from Redon to L'Orient, laden with timber; taken on 14/25 August 1747 off Groix by the privateerDuke of Cumberland (Peter Le Page commanding), and brought into Guernsey.

  • [CP 3-CP 4]: attestation as to papers, and abstracts and translations of the 5 ship's papers.

Ships Papers numbered SP 1-SP 5, including a ship's pass, bill of lading, muster roll, customs papers.
