Description

Captured ship: Le Petit Prophete Elie otherwise Le Petit Elie of Granville (master Jacques Radiguet).

History: a French ship (30 tons, 5 men), bound from Dieppe to Cherbourg, laden with oil, cordage, clay and hemp; taken on 16/27 November 1747 off Cap de la Hague by the privateer Tryall (Richard Oliver commanding), and brought into Guernsey.

  • [CP 2]: allegation;
  • [CP 3-CP 4]: attestation as to papers, and abstracts and translations of the 19 ship's papers.

Ship’s Papers numbered SP 1-SP 19, including muster roll, bills of lading, receipts, ship's pass.

[Decision: condemned as prize, 25 February 1748]
