Description

Captured ship: La Prudente Sara of Havana (master Antonio de Urrutia or de Urratia).

History: a Spanish ship (200 tons, 8 guns, 40 men), bound from Havana to Cadiz, laden with 200 bales of Havana snuff; taken on 14/25 October 1746 in latitude 44°N by Admiral Anson's squadron including HMS Monmouth (Henry Harrison commanding), HMS Windsor (Peter Dennis commanding) and HMS Eagle (George Bridges Rodney commanding) and brought into Plymouth.
